What Is Co2 Resurfacing?

Pixel Co2 Fractionated Skin Resurfacing by Alma. As we age, the tone and texture of our skin changes. Fine lines around our eyes and mouth as well as forehead wrinkles begin to appear. On top of that, age spots and blemishes may develop, causing the texture of our skin to appear coarse and uneven. CO2 is the gold standard for a variety of skin issues including improving overall skin tone, elasticity, texture, superficial pigmentation, acne scarring and pore size. Skin resurfacing treatments are safe, effective and are suitable for most skin types. Patient downtime varies, depending on the condition being treated, but it is usually about a week. Patients can choose a light treatment with a shorter recovery time, or to have a stronger procedure to achieve long lasting anti-aging results.

How Does It Work?

This is a new type of skin resurfacing treatment that helps keep your skin looking clear and young for years to come. This type of laser resurfacing is mainly used to treat one of the following:

  • Acne scars
  • Age spots
  • Crow's feet
  • Droopy eyelids
  • Sagging skin
  • Scars
  • Sun-damaged skin
  • Wrinkles

Layers under the skin are vaporized using a high-energy laser to produce a so called "controlled injury". Doing this stimulates collagen and increases your regenerative processes of the skin to not only look younger, but be younger by getting rid of age spots and broken blood vessels. This is a much safer operation and requires less down time then some of the procedures commonly preformed in the past such as dermabrasion or traditional laser resurfacing.
